The Orquestra Jove Unió Musical de Llíria welcomed the new year with a concert that included the participation of the Cor Social and the Cor de Veus Blanques del col·legi Centre Integrat I de l’Escola d’Educands, all directed by the lead director of the Orquestra Pascual Cabanes.
For the occasion, the Orquestra prepared a selection of pieces belonging to the great repertoire of classical music. Furthermore, it was incorporated the participation of the tenor Miguel Ángel Ariza and the soprano Blanca Ruiz as a novelty. In the first part, the Orquestra Jove, consisting of 60 musicians, performed Bizet’s suite “L’Arlesienne”. In the second part, the lyric gala performance started and pieces such as Wagner’s “Cor dels Pelegrins (Tannhauser), Puccini’s “Nessum Dorma” (Turandot), and Verdi’s “La donna e mobile” (Rigoletto), “Brindis” (La Traviata) and “Va Pensiero” (Navuco) were performed.
Lastly, the children of the Cor de Veus Blanques, together with the Orquestra Jove and the Cor Social, performed “Santa Claus està a la ciutat”, “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Nit”.
