Llíria keeps receiving awards. The last one: “Premio de Camp de Túria de El Periódico de Aquí CV” in the category of Culture for the recognition as Creative City of Music by UNESCO. This distinction meant a tribute to the musical heritage of the town, capital of the region and cradle of music.
The Unió Musical and the Banda Primitiva received as well the same award for their contribution to musical education and the consolidation of the band activity in the town. “From now on we have many challenges ahead, both related to the development of the objectives that a Creative City has, and to giving renewed impetus to the city’s musical phenomenon in this new millennium,” pointed out Manolo Civera, mayor of Llíria .
The event, which this year celebrated its fourth edition, took place in Vilamarxant and brought together the most prominent civil society in the region of Camp de Túria, recognizing thus the work of individuals, institutions and associations.
