Llíria promotes the recognition of Unesco as Creative City of Music as a tourist value in Fitur (International tourism trade fair)

Turisme Llíria exposes the distinction bestowed by the agency of the United Nations and will present it as an important attraction and reason to visit the city next to the Roman Baths of Mura.

The city of Llíria will be of great importance in Fitur 2020, which will be taking place in Madrid from 22 to 26 January through Turisme Llíria. The recognition as Creative City of Music by Unesco and the recovery and valuation process of the Oracular Sanctuary and the Roman Baths of Mura, which will be presented as two important attractions to visit the Edetanian city, will be the main focus of the proposals of the City Council.

Llíria’s distinction as “City of Music” is only held by Seville in Spain and about forty cities around the world. An award that consolidates the musical tradition of the municipality and that serves to reinforce the important cultural offer currently existing. More than 170 events, both national and international, and of various styles, are held annually in the locality. The impressive theatres of the Primitiva and the Unió Musical are the stages of some of these concerts, but Llíria has, furthermore, more than 30 spaces to enjoy live music, being located many of them in historical monuments of the population. “Belonging to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network helps to expand the touristic offer of the municipality with the incorporation of innovative musical products based on music, heritage and other fields of creativity,” states Manolo Civera, mayor of Llíria.

In addition to the traditional symphonic music concerts that are scheduled throughout the year, such as the band festival or the performances of national formations of recognized prestige, Llíria also offers alternative events such as LLUM FEST, a festival of world music and ethnic rhythms supported by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, through the brand “Mediterranew Musix”.
